Get Romantic With Moxxi and Borderlands 2

By Jonathan Barnes, 2 years ago
I've been accused of being many things: attractive, smart, funny, egotistic, narcissistic, and delusional, but the one thing that probably hits closest to home is romantic. It's not uncommon for me to squire Mrs. obj away for candlelit nights of romance, but this Valentine's season may take the cake as Gearbox has already given me the perfect gift: a night of co-op with Mad Moxxi in their latest "Headhunter" DLC pack for Borderlands 2, "Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre".

Let's leave it to the wordsmiths at Gearbox to describe this labor of love:

Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre was inspired by one of our favorite holidays and is full of love and cuddles, but with a Borderlands twist. This add-on features the return of Innuendo Bot 5000 and its creator, Mad Moxxi, as they try to bring two rival clans together with the help of the Vault Hunters. They think love and understanding will bring peace to the clans, but as you know, things don’t always work out the way you’d hope on Pandora – especially when it involves the Hodunks and the Zafords. Ellie also makes an appearance and tries to help out too, but she isn’t very keen on keeping things civil.
The fun doesn't end there, though, as you'll have the chance to play Chuck Woolery with two new robot characters who will need your assistance in mustering up the courage to profess their love. One word of warning, though, as you're helping out these two, you'll want to keep your eyes peeled for Threshers, especially ones in "The Rainbrew Room" which are swimming in "left-over distillery products".

Moxxi 1

Like all of the previous "Headhunter" packs, once you beat the final enemy, you'll gain access to new heads and skins for each character class. Gearbox is calling these heads a special "inside look" for obvious reasons.
Moxxi 2

Gearbox's Josh Jeffcoat recently sat down with IGN to play through 15 minutes of Moxxi's return.

Finally, Gearbox has said that they're now starting to push some technical limitations with all of the new quests and loot that these add-ons have added, but they are going to deliver one more "Headhunter" DLC that will be named, "Sir Hammerlock Versus the Son of Crawmerax". This final pack will be coming in April and is set to feature the offspring of the "fan-favorite" enemy from Borderlands.

"Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre" will be available on February 11th and will cost USD $2.99 / GBP £2.39 / EUR 2,99 €.
