Roundabout Coming to Xbox One

By Michelle Balsan, 2 years ago
Microsoft has had a bit of a rocky history with indie developers. While there are those studios, such as a Twisted Pixel or a Zen Studios, who seem to be happy in their interactions with the publisher, there are those, such as Team Meat or Hello Games, that have been less than enthused.

In an effort to change perceptions about their attitude toward indie developers, especially to encourage indie participation and development in the wake of the Xbox One's release, Microsoft launched ID@Xbox, an effort to assist developers with more easily self-publishing on the One. Quite a list of developers have already confirmed that they are working with the program, which is exciting news for gamers.

One company not mentioned within that list is No Goblin, a company headed by Dan Teasedale, one of the minds behind The Gunstringer and Rock Band (and who was also kind enough to have a chat with us some time ago). The studio is currently working on a game called Roundabout. It's... a little difficult to describe, so we'll let the below video do the work:

Thanks to the ID@Xbox program, No Goblin has confirmed that Roundabout will be headed to the Xbox One. There is no set release window for the game yet, but it will be playable at at the upcoming Media Indie Exchange and at PAX East in Boston.

We'll bring you more details on the game as it is available.
