Trio of Transformers: RotDS Screenshots Released

Bumblebee and Optimus Prime

Last week, several infographics were released showing details about Bumblebee in Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark. Prior to those details, a bunch of screenshots were released showcasing Optimus Prime.

Now, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee feature in a trio of new images.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark will be released on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One in June this year.

This probably won't have the depth of the two Cybertron games, although I think the storyline will touch on them. It will probably play more like Dark of the Moon. I see this as a movie tie-in really.

The DotM multiplayer was just a fraction of what it was in the Cybertron games, and I have no doubt RotDS will have the same feeling as DotM.

I'll pick this up on the cheap.

The two previous crappy Transformers games, the ones based on the stupendously awful Bay movies were Transformers: The Game developed by Travellers Tales (the guys who brought us the LEGO series) and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen developed by Luxoflux who have made nothing more than Kung Fu Panda.

The three previous good Transformers games, Transformers: War For Cybertron, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon (loosely based on the Bay crap) were all developed by 'High Moon Studios'. And all of the above were published by 'Activision'.

This one is being developed by 'Edge Of Reality' the creators behind 'The Incredible Hulk' which did not get good reviews, but it is still published by Activision.

Is this one based on the shitty Michael Bay movies 'cos it sounds like it. I'm a fan only of the old animated movie and series so I doubt I will get this one if it is.

Currently wrapping up Fall of Cybertron and sad High Moon isn't still involved with this franchise any more. That being said, Prime has quite the mega gun there, but Bumblebee looks like the Bay disaster. Unless this is a direct continuation of the Cybertron franchise (which I doubt) and that's only a 'Bee" character skin, I'll be passing on this.

Sad, since I love G1 so much.

I too love G1.

This game is actually an unholy mashup of the War for Cybertron-verse (the Aligned continuity) and the Bayformers. A portal links the two universes, with the events of this game occurring before the departure of the Ark in Fall of Cybertron, and concurrently with the events of new movie Age of Extinction.

I expect this game will be poor at best, but I really hope it proves me wrong as I loved the previous two Cybertron games.

DotM wasn't very good to be honest, probably due to the crappy lore and short development time so that it could be released at the same time as the film.

The Incredible Hulk was surprisingly fun as it plays a lot like Ultimate Destruction (it does have it's fair share of bugs though).

I still think that this game will blow like Batman AO though.
