EA Sports has today released details on how the career and online modes will work in the upcoming MMA title EA SPORTS UFC
. For the first time in an UFC game, players will be able to work their way through to the UFC via proving their worth in the Ultimate Fighter, with UFC champions, contenders, and personalities on-hand to help guide you along the way.
Winning the Ultimate Fighter will only be the beginning of a potentially long career. How you fight will determine how long you last, with five-round wars likely to lower the longevity of your fighter. Meanwhile, decisive victories or knockouts will result in a boost in fan popularity, visits from other legendary fighters and chances for new gear and sponsorship deals to arise.
EA Sports has also released a trailer to further show off how the career mode will work:
Alongside the career mode, EA Sports has also detailed two online modes: Online Championships and Online Rivalries. Online Championships will allow you to prove your worth against the rest of the world, with wins improving your rank and giving you the chance to fight for a belt. Online Rivalries meanwhile will allow you to finally settle the score between you and a friend, with head-to-head stats tracked for each rivalry you have.
As well as the two online modes, there is also FighterNet, which tracks your progress across all online competitions and allows you to share fight highlights; if good enough, these might even get featured as one of the 'Highlights of the Night'. In addition to this, FighterNet will give access to some of the latest UFC content when it becomes available.EA SPORTS UFC
is set to fight its way onto our consoles when it is released on June 17th in North America and June 20th in Europe.
