Behind the Scenes of NBA Live 15

How does EA Sports begin to fix the debacle that was NBA LIVE 14? With an apology. The company has previously acknowledged that NBA Live 14 did not "live up to [gamers] expectations". Now, following the recent announcement of NBA LIVE 15, EA Sports released a video that reiterated the shortcomings of the previous release and begins to explain why they think NBA Live 15 will be a much improved gaming experience.

There is no doubt that the bigger budget, newer technology, and improved techniques will produce a better looking game than EA's last attempt. Fans of basketball gaming, however, may find it disturbing that the video fails to mention how EA plans to improve gameplay. While this information was briefly addressed in the above referenced announcement, EA has yet to produce any evidence that real measures are being taken to improve in that area. And the fact is that EA needs to do more than just put a pretty face on this game to bring it up to the level expected from gamers who spend their hard earned money on this franchise.

Some hardcore EA Sports fans, or NBA Live fans may be excited for this upcoming release. But, the overwhelming majority of gamers know that EA has a long way to go before they catch up to or even lessen the gap between them and the competition.

NBA Live 15 will hit stores on October 7th, 2014.
