So you saw the Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Teaser the other day and thought "Wow! What Collector's Edition can I pre-order?" Seems a bit odd that that was your first though, but I won't pass judgement.

You're in luck though! Treyarch have today revealed the contents of both the Hardened Edition and Prestige Edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops, quoted below. But first, an enticing image showing you the entirety of the Prestige Edition's contents:

External image

Hardened Edition:

- Call of Duty: Black Ops full game
- Premium, special-edition SteelBook™ case
- Limited edition Black Ops collector’s medal w/display case
- 4 additional co-op maps not included in the standard edition of the game
- Special Black Ops Xbox Live or PlayStation Home avatar outfit

Prestige Edition:

The Prestige Edition is what every hardcore Call of Duty fan needs. It includes everything in the Hardened Edition, along with a real remote-control vehicle modeled after the in-game RC-XD killstreak reward! The RC-XD’s features include:

- Video & audio sent wirelessly to remote transmitter (200 ft. range)
- 2” backlit TFT 220 x176 color screen built into RC controller
- Digital proportional steering and throttle
- Independent suspension
- High and low speed settings
- Custom pistol grip style RC controller
- Display stand

The Hardened Edition will retail in the US for $79.99, and the Prestige Edition will cost $149.99. There's no official word on prices elsewhere, but I'm sure if you check your local online retailers they'll have some prices up. Both the Prestige and Hardened Editions of the game are available for pre-order now, scheduled for release with Black Ops on November 9th.

Not a huge fan of collector's edition games when the franchise has a yearly release but I must say this one might be worth the extra $20.

As cool as the remote-controlled car is, I don't think it's worth $70 extra. I think I'll just get the normal version if I decide to get this game. Still don't know how to feel about it because it's made by Treyarch.

4 extra co-op maps. Sounds like they are going the way of Special Ops mode over a Horde mode. :(

Not worth the money, I can go to Toys R Us and buy a RC Buggy for $30 if I wanted one. Despite BO looking like a MW 2 skin I hope it can deliver and actually make the series fun again.

Surely nothing bad will happen when someone is seen playing with a remote control vehicle that appears to have an explosive attached to it.
