Final Fantasy Type-0, a game previously unreleased in the West, shall be receiving a HD makeover and heading to the next-gen, Square Enix has revealed.

Type-0, part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis sub-series alongside Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XV, was released on the Playstation Portable in Japan to critical acclaim but had never made its way outside of those shores. In fact, a fan translation for the PSP had been in development and was released only a day before this announcement was made. Hajime Tabata, director of the game, revealed that it was this sort of dedication that drove Square Enix to release the game outside of Japan saying "The voice of our Western fans was instrumental in the development of FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0, and we’re very excited to release this title soon".

As someone who enjoyed Final Fantasy XIII and its sequels, I'm very much looking forward to picking this up when it hits. Hopefully, we'll learn soon enough when it shall finally be releasing to the rest of the world.
