Bean Dive 2014 Details

By Dave Horobin, 2 years ago
The 5th Annual International Bean Diving Event is almost upon us, and I'm here to let you know how you can join in the fun once the event officially starts this coming Saturday, July 5th.

As with last year's event, the Bean Dive Hub will be your one-stop shop for all Bean Dive 2014 stats, forums and news, as well as being the place to sign up for the event by clicking the "Start My Dive" button.

Once clicked, the magic of TA will instantly capture your current stats and begin your Dive tracking. To add games to your dive simply pop a single achievement in each new game, and they will automatically be included in your Bean Dive. Once you've popped an achievement in your final game, clicking the "Finished Dive" button will allow the site to start tracking your recovery, and a message will appear on your friend feed detailing the total number of games added, and your total completion percentage drop.

For those of you who have no idea what Bean Diving is, it's a community wide event conceived five years ago by our very own Beanpotter. The idea is that you add any unstarted games in your backlog to your Gamertag by popping a single achievement in each of them. Whilst starting all those new games is great, it will obviously also result in your completion percentage plummeting (scary I know). Over the course of the next year you'll have until the next annual Bean Dive Day to work through as many of the newly added games to try and recover your completion decrease. If you want to find out more information on this year's Bean Dive you can post in the Bean Dive forums or read the handy FAQ thread here.

Registration for the 5th Annual International Bean Diving Event opens on Saturday, July 5th and closes nine days later on July 13th. We'll post a reminder once registration is open, and then again a day or two before it closes, but in the meantime feel free to share your Bean Dive stories below and to tell us how deep you intend to Dive!

You can also follow the event and share your progress with the TA Community on:

- Twitter, with the hashtag #TABeanDive
- Facebook on the Events tab
- Google+ on our dedicated Events page.

Whatever your network of choice, be sure to dive in and meet some more of the TA community.
