DOOM Images & Details Unleashed at QuakeCon

By Chewie, 2 years ago
As part of its showing at this year's QuakeCon, more details were unveiled about the highly anticipated next instalment in the DOOM series, which was teased at E3 last month. Original series developers id Software are again behind the wheel, with Bethesda providing publishing duties on the title, which promises to go back to its roots with old-school FPS gameplay. The game will run on the new id Tech 6 engine with expectations of 1080p and 60 frames per second. In an effort to give the game that shiny new coat that comes with the performance of the new generation, it will simply be called DOOM, instead of Doom 4. Set on Mars, creatures such as hellknights, cyberdemons, and others will be making a return.

Along with these details come two images from the title, although the eagle-eyed amongst you will notice that these are grabs from the original teaser trailer. Hopefully some more media will follow shortly.

A release date for DOOM is currently unknown but, like the unleashing of the forces of hell, these things sometimes take time to be done right.
