This report is for the period July 21st to July 27th 2014
'Sup TA'ers. Welcome to this week's stats were we continue to trawl through the Dead Zone, that time between the last big releases earlier in Summer and then the next batch later in the Fall. This is leading to some pretty stagnant numbers. Sales have helped keep things interesting in previous weeks but they can't hold our interests forever. The Statisticles are getting restless and they need some decent numbers to keep them sane.Games Started
28,376 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 40,880 games between them (2,019 different games).
As it continues its freeness through to the end of the month, the numbers for Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition (Xbox One)
steady out this week, only dropping from 2,100 to 1,400 starters.
Some may not see it as a game (it's found under "Apps" on the console) but as it contains gamerscore, unlike other apps, new release VoiceStudio
takes second place on the table with 670 starters.
The rest of the table has a distinct whiff of the familiar about it, with no other new releases or discounts to shake things up. With the release schedule for the next few weeks looking pretty barren, I'm not confident things will pick up again for a while. Then again, they have sprung ID@Xbox titles on us with little warning before, so who knows, maybe something will pop up.Top Xbox One Games Started
Although the Ultimate Games Sale was a couple of weeks before, this weeks 360 sales saw discounts across lots of different titles and they clearly proved popular. Half the table is filled with sales titles, including the top two. By far the most popular was Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon
, which managed 600 starters in first. It's followed in second by Injustice: Gods Among Us
, which manages 375. Moving down the table, Jeopardy!
takes fourth, Painkiller Hell & Damnation
lands in fifth and Dark Souls II
claims eighth place, with between 180 and 230 starters separating them.Top Xbox 360 Retail Games Started
In its second week of "Games with Gold" freeness, BattleBlock Theater
drops by over half of its starters, going from over 10,000 to under 5,000. It's still over ten times more then the next title on the table can muster, though. The top four spots this week are identical to last week's, with "Games with Gold" taking three spaces and recent release Magic 2015 - Duels of the Planeswalkers
maintaining third place. New release TMNT Training Lair
only manages fifth place with 260 starters, maybe because it requires Kinect and maybe because it's supposed to be junk.
Unlike Retail, the only Arcade sale title to make the list is point and click adventure The Raven
, in sixth with 230 starters. Pulling up the rear is new free-to-play title AirMech Arena
, which appears a week before it was due to release thanks to a closed beta

It's mostly business as usual here, with The Sims FreePlay (WP)
retaining its second place position after last week's boost up the table. Last week's discounted title, Mirror's Edge (WP)
, takes a small slip from third to fourth (well, joint third) although it's quite a big drop in numbers from 110 to 65 starters. Unfortunately, this week's sale title, Asphalt 7: Heat (WP)
, doesn't make the grade.Top Windows Phone Games StartedMicrosoft Jigsaw (Win 8)
continues to lead the table by a mile, despite dropping from over 630 to under 380 starters. With so many new Microsoft freebie titles now consistently dominating the tables, and no other new releases in a long while, is it still covering Windows 8?Top Windows 8 Games StartedGames Completed
9,483 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 12,869 games between them (1,329 different games).Voice Studio
manages to slip itself between Guacamelee
and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood (Xbox One)
into second place with 260 completions. The "Dragon's Teeth
" completions for Battlefield 4 (Xbox One)
keep coming in, maintaining a fourth place position for the game and retaining around 140 completions.Top Xbox One Games CompletedBattlefield 4
gets a bigger boost up the table on the 360 from ninth to second, although that only represents an increase of 20 completions to 65. With not much else to keep things interesting, the rest of the table is mostly made up of the easier to complete games of the last while.Top Xbox 360 Retail Games Completed
The latest episode of The Walking Dead: Season Two
again works its magic on the table, giving the game a massive 3,400 completions, a number no doubt bigger than it originally would've been thanks to the recent Season Pass sale.
Last week's sales titles Assassin's Creed Liberation HD
continue to pull in completions in seventh and tenth, whilst this week's offered The Raven
proves the rule of point and click adventures being easy completions by turning up in eighth with 45 completions.Top Xbox 360 Arcade Games Completed
Although it missed out last week, Mirror's Edge
leaps onto the table this week in fourth with over 15 completions. Other than that, it's same old same old.Top Windows Phone Games CompletedMicrosoft Solitaire Collection (Win 8)
and Microsoft Mahjong (Win 8)
continue to dominate over a mostly very familiar table.Top Windows 8 Games CompletedAchievements Won
72,540 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 1,038,180 achievements online between them (59,675 different achievements).
With the "Dragon's Teeth" achievements dropping off the table, that leaves Guacamelee
to resume its clean sweep status.Top Xbox One Achievements WonDestroy All Humans
certainly was popular. It manages three spots on the table, including the top two. Not bad for a five year old game. Injustice
takes more spots on the table, claiming six spaces, whilst Dark Souls
maintains its solitary ninth place position from last week.Top Xbox 360 Retail Achievements Won
Although it predictably takes eight spots on the table with all its "Episode 4: Amid the Ruins
" achievements, TWAD
doesn't manage to get them all in one block. In fact, the block is blocked by BattleBlock Theater
, whose opening achievement takes third place.Top Xbox 360 Arcade Achievements WonTemple Run
almost manages a clean sweep, if it weren't for two Sims Freeplay
achievements.Top Windows Phone Achievements Won
We get the same achievements in the same order this week on W8, with Jigsaw
in the top nine and Sudoku
claiming tenth.Top Windows 8 Achievements Won
Although the numbers for Action-Adventure continue to fall, going from 11 million to 9.2 million this week, it still manages to retain first place as Shooter also drops from 9 million to 7.5 million. The other genres also all see slight dips in numbers, but manage to retain their positions, with the exception of Card & Board losing out to Music & Rhythm in tenth place.Total TrueAchievements won by Genre
The quiet weeks continue to roll along. Will AirMech Arena
and Titanfall (Xbox One)
DLC give us the numbers we crave next week? I hope so.
