DieselStörmers Suffers Trademark Dispute

By Keith Gray, 2 years ago
Rogue Stormers started its development life as Project Ravensdale. The team at Black Forest Games is probably wishing that the game's initial name had remained unchanged, as the company was recently notified of a trademark dispute from the famous Italian fashion brand, DIESEL.

DIESEL argue that the upcoming game, and more so any subsequent related merchandise or clothing, could cause confusion for consumers and have a knock-on effect on the established fashion brand's image. Despite the dispute having to be dealt with an EU agency, due to the two companies being separated by international borders, Black Forest Games expect that nothing will come of the issue because of the nature of their product and its name. The publisher and developer is so confident about the expected outcome that Andreas Speer, Managing Director of Black Forest Games, has confirmed where the team's focus remains:

The history of the Dieselstormers project is full of challenges. This dispute is simply one more thing to overcome, but we will not be deterred in our will to make a great game.
Previous coverage of DieselStörmers has included plenty of screenshots and a trailer. However, the game's release date is still unconfirmed.
