Toy Soldiers: War Chest Announced by Ubisoft

Signal Studios and Ubisoft are BACK TOGETHER and have announced the latest game in their Toy Soldiers series, Toy Soldiers: War Chest. Instead of fighting on the battlefields of the past, War Chest will allow gamers to face off against rival toy armies.

Gamescom 1

Four different armies will be available when the game launches. The German Empire is lead by the Kaiser who defends their reign with new troops, weapons, and turrets. The Star Power army is lead by Starbright (a "whimsical but dangerous heroine") and is comprised of unicorns, pixies, flying Pegasus, and laser-shooting teddy bears. If that doesn't sound cute enough, the Star Power army has "come to rain hearts and rainbows of destruction onto the battlefield". While the other two armies haven't been revealed yet, Signal Studios and Ubisoft have said that each army will have their own unique units, bases, and attacks, making each gameplay experience different.

D.R. Albright III, the Founder of Signal Studios, feels that War Chest will appeal to virtually everyone:

Partnering with Ubisoft presented an opportunity to create the Toy Soldiers game we had always envisioned. Gamers of all ages can play as and face-off against toys familiar to them from their childhood to recreate the battles of their imaginations. Fans will have a great time learning how each army plays, and the individual strengths of their troops and weapons.

Thomas Painçon, EMEA Digital Publishing Director at Ubisoft, took a moment to reaffirm the publisher's commitment to the title:

Toy Soldiers has always been a top digital arcade title on XBLA and we are very proud to bring the new opus of this well-known franchise on next-gen. We strongly believe the universe of Toy Soldiers will offer a unique and intense gaming experience and we hope that fans will enjoy the deep game mechanics. Toy Soldiers is a unique blend of tower defense and strategy, and Toy Soldiers: War Chest makes the toy box eternal, letting gamers face off against rival toys and friends to determine which army will reign victorious.
