Dead Rising: Case Zero Delayed [Japan only]

By zigs00,
Edit:
Okay, panic over! Over on their official blog (http://www.capcom-unity.com/jgonzo/blog/2010/08/30/dead_risi...), Capcom have confirmed that the game will still release tomorrow in North America and Europe, for definite.

I want to apologise for being a bit too presumptive with this news, and I'm sorry for getting this wrong! We all make mistrakes, eh? And hey, it's good news after all! (Unless you live in Japan).

Original story:
Dead Rising 2: Case Zero was scheduled for release tomorrow, but Capcom Japan today announced that the game has in fact been delayed and won't hit that release date.

According to Famitsu, the reasoning behind this decision is that some inappropriate language has been discovered in the game, as well as content that isn't appropriate for a free demo. Vague and fairly unexplanatory, and to make matters worse Capcom have not announced a new date for the game's release. I'd imagine we won't have to wait too long, but you never know.

It's worth noting though that this delay doesn't definitely affect the Western release of the game, but it seemed worth a news post just in case. The Japanese release date has indeed shifted, but it's still not clear about the rest of us. Some news sites are reporting that the North American release date hasn't changed at all, but there's not been any confirmation yet on that.

On the bright side, this news doesn't affect the retail version of Dead Rising 2 (Xbox 360), which is still scheduled for release on September 24th in Europe/Australia, September 28th in North America and September 30th in Japan.
