Right before the annual PAX Prime kicked off, Microsoft released several new details about Halo: The Master Chief Collection
, including information on the inclusion of Lockout
as one of the upgraded maps coming to http://www.trueachievements.com/Halo-2-Xbox-One/achieve....htm
In a lengthy post on Xbox Wire
, details of the Halo
panel from PAX Prime were laid out for those who could not attend. One of the major topics of discussion was the upgrades to Lockout, including a new, wider cover area, a breakable glass structure that will eventually shatter if it takes enough damage, and the "addition of massive stalactites that hang over the left, center, and right sides of the map", which can be shot down, thus creating new platforms within the map. For those purists wanting to play without the new features, however, they may be toggled off in Forge.
Another major topic of discussion was the upgrading of the sound effects and music in Halo 2
. Not only have the sounds been fully redone to "sound and behave much more realistic than ever before", but the iconic soundtrack has also been re-recorded and will feature the Skywalker Symphony and the San Francisco Boys Chorus. Songs featured in the game by Incubus and Breaking Benjamin will be re-imagined by Periphery band member, Misha Mansoor, while Steve Vai is returning to re-record his guitar parts for the game. As with the changes to Lockout, Halo 2
can still be enjoyed with its original audio, if that's what you'd prefer.
Finally, there was a further look at Halo: Nightfall
, the live action series that will give us a deeper look into the Halo
Halo: The Master Chief Collection
