Titanfall Screens & Details for IMC Rising DLC

By Ashley Woodcock,
Last month, we covered the reveal of Titanfall's third and final DLC map pack, "IMC Rising", in which the details were small but did reveal the three packed maps included to be Backwater, Sandtrap, and Zone 18. In the newly released preview, Backwater gets a good looking over with plenty of details, the map's layout, and a set of screens.

Check out what the inhabitants of Backwater are up to along with the top down map of the location:

Verticality has always been an amazing factor in Titanfall, and the impressiveness continues within Backwater as the elevation changes define the map. As you will see in the following screen, the "rice paddies" are ready to be crushed by Titans dashing and battling each other in the spacious field, while the clever player piloting their Titan will eye up the high ground to dish out assisting damage to the poor soon-to-be scrap metal down below:

If running through the rage of Titan battles is not the sensible option, Pilots can take to the underground and dash through the grain storage facilities that can be ideal for moving quickly in a game of Harpoint Domination. As per usual, Respawn Entertainment make sure the areas where Pilots travel are designed to be "simple and compact, keeping the action fast and constant".

Ziplines help Pilots to stay airborne but can also be used to traverse across maps quickly and get up to hard to reach locations. In Backwater, players can continue to make good use of the ziplines to move from building to building avoiding the daunting areas where you know that without your long-lasting stealth burn card active, you're soon going to be made short-work of as soon as an enemy spots you. Take a look at this screen for a prime example of the term, "no-man's land".

The original concept was based around some early concepts for Titanfall that we never completed - the rice paddies. Early Respawn fans may recognize the first concept art we ever released, starring the infamous Nessie (Roger), as inspiration for Backwater.

The "IMC Rising" map pack is still scheduled for release on both the Xbox 360 and Xbox Versions of Titanfall this fall. Those who own the game's Season Pass will be able to download the map pack at no extra charge, otherwise the third DLC pack will cost $9.99/£7.99.
