The Evil Within Enters a World of Stealth

As promised at the end of September, Bethesda has now released the third trailer for their upcoming survival horror title The Evil Within. We began with enemies and weapons, and followed that up with environmental traps. For the grand finale today we look at the world within the game where every encounter has the potential to end your life.

Throughout the game, players will have to work out what is real, or what is part of a twisted nightmare where the world around you is ever-changing. As the trailer implored, players must mix stealth, cover and action if they wish to survive. Not all enemies can be conquered, so running away becomes a perfectly valid tactic. Of course, enemies are not the only issue that you'll encounter. Traps and obstacles can end your life instantly, but if you use them carefully, they can also end the lives of your enemies.

The Evil Within will be releasing in North America and Europe on October 14th, in Australia/New Zealand on October 16th, and Japan on October 23rd. Don't forget that you can already pre-order the Xbox One version of the title from the Xbox LIVE Games Store for US$59.99 / £49.99 / €69.99 / AU$99.95 / ¥1,620. Doing this will grant players access to "The Fighting Chance Pack", which will allow players to prevent death for a few moments, but only if the items within the pack are used correctly.
