Call of Duty: AW Upgrade Plans Revealed

By Rebecca Smith, 2 years ago
Last year, Call of Duty fans were given an incentive to purchase Call of Duty: Ghosts before the release of the Xbox One. On the Xbox LIVE Games Store, players could pay just $10 (or regional equivalent) to upgrade their digital Xbox 360 version of the title to the Xbox One version. One year later, there are plenty of gamers that are still to make the leap from Xbox 360 to Xbox One. Activision has realised this, so they're offering a similar offer this year for those planning to purchase Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

In the new offer, players who purchase a digital version of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on the Xbox 360 before March 31st, 2015, will be able to upgrade to the Xbox One version of the game for FREE. Season pass and other DLC purchases will be transferred for FREE too. For this to happen, the player's Gamertag must remain the same. Players will be able to play both versions of the game even after the upgrade and all multiplayer stats will be shared between the two versions of the title.

If you fancy skipping straight to the Xbox One version of the title, you can now pre-order the Day Zero Edition and Digital Pro Edition on the Xbox LIVE Games Store. Meanwhile, the "Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare Season Pass" is available for purchase on both consoles. Players who purchase the Day Zero Edition of the title on either console will be able to play the game on November 3rd, a full day before its official worldwide release on November 4th.
