THQ report a shift in release window

A recent financial debriefing from THQ reveals that Red Faction: Armageddon will not be with us until May 2011. CEO of THQ Brian Farrell commented on the changes:

THQ's creative organization is delivering a strong pipeline of core game franchises scheduled for release over the next several years, positioning THQ for significant net sales, earnings and cash flow growth. We continue to execute on our plan to deliver great games, market them aggressively and release them in the most advantageous windows.Basically the decision to alter the release is a financially motivated one, as THQ poise themselves to net a proposed '$800 million to $825 million' in net sales, with Red Faction: Armageddon at the crux of these earnings.

Every release date i now take with a pinch of the old rock salt. It seems near enough every game is delayed from the initial date.

As long as it makes the game better - im not too bothered

This game will be EPIC, hope the multiplayer gets more attention this time though. I kind of thought it wasn't really promoted w/ RFG (lol like any part of that game was) at all, and it was awesome.

Im more excited that (from the same article) Saints Row 3 has a release date now: Fall 2011.

As for Armageddon, I haven't been following it much, but Volition is one of my favorite developers now (they've NEVER let me down lol) so it'll probably rock.

Really looking forward to this. Thought the 1st one was great and absolutely loved the multiplayer on it, very under rated.

If it means THQ releases Space Marine faster, i'd let anything happen.

Still a shame, because this game is going to be awesome! Lets hope its mp lasts longer than guerilla though!
