Halo 3: ODST Coming to Master Chief Collection

Chances are, if you've played Halo: The Master Chief Collection you've run into a problem or two. 343 has not been deaf to this issue and has released a multitude of patches in an attempt to fix the problems that have arisen.

Today, the publisher has revealed that they intend to make further amends to early adopters of the title. First off, if you played The Master Chief Collection between its release on November 11 and today, December 19th, 2014, you'll receive the following freebies

•1 Month of Xbox Live Gold
•Exclusive In-Game Nameplate
•Exclusive In-Game Avatar
While that's a pretty sweet deal, Bonnie Ross, head of 343 Industries also confirmed that not only is Halo 3: ODST also coming to The Master Chief Collection, but early adopters will also receive that for free. The team has stated that they're bringing over the campaign at the moment, and do not plan to include Firefight. Another note is that the map, "Relic", will be reimagined for Halo 2: Anniversary.

•Halo 3: ODST Campaign – Development has just started on the campaign for Halo 3: ODST, which will be available within Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and upgraded to 1080p resolution, running at 60fps. It will be available for free to anyone who has played Halo: The Master Chief Collection since launch (11.11.14) through today (12.19.14). Thanks to our friends at Bungie for creating the original “Halo 3: ODST” campaign.

•“Relic” Halo 2: Anniversary Multiplayer Map – Available via a free content update to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, we will reimagine the fan-favorite map “Relic,” fully remastered and running at 1080p resolution and 60fps. We chose this map based on its suitability for Slayer and Objective modes and its ability to support teams of varying sizes. And you can trust that Certain Affinity will tune and tweak the map to make it even better than you remember.
343 detailed how they plan to distribute these items in a FAQ posted on their site.

Beginning as early as mid-January 2015, depending on your existing Xbox Live subscription type, we will either apply the one month of Xbox Live Gold directly to your account or send a redeemable token via the Xbox One message center. In either case, we will send a confirmation via the in-console message center, so please check it regularly.

The exclusive in-game nameplate and avatar will be available in “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” in December 2014 via an upcoming content update. Check Halo Waypoint for further updates on release of the nameplate and avatar.

The re-mastered version of the campaign for “Halo 3: ODST” in “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” and the re-imagined “Halo 2: Anniversary” version of the “Relic” multiplayer map will be available in spring 2015. Both projects were not part of our original development plans, but as a result of community feedback, and to do something special for our fans, both are now in development. The campaign for “Halo 3: ODST” will be delivered via a free download token for eligible players of “Halo: The Master Chief Collection,” and “Relic” will be included as part of a free content update for the game.
As we get more specifics on ODST's arrival, we'll be sure to bring it to you.
