Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Announced

In case you haven't had the chance yet to spend hundreds of hours in the world of Pandora and beyond, Gearbox's latest announcement will probably appeal to you. Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel are coming to the Xbox One this March as part of the Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.

Endearingly named after the franchise's villainous Handsome Jack, the Collection contains both games and all of their DLCs (that are available as of March 24, 2015) in revved-up high definition graphics. Those who are already in the middle of their games on last-gen consoles won't have to worry, as cross-save functionality will transfer all progress, including leveled up characters and Badass Rank, to your next-gen console of choice. Unfortunately cross-saving only works within the same console family, so those on the 360 can only transfer to the One, while those on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita can only transfer to PlayStation 4.

On top of that, The Handsome Collection also offers four-player local split-screen for the first time in a Borderlands game.

Remember that part about including all previous DLCs? Well it really is all DLCs, as in this gigantic list:

Borderlands 2:
- Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty (campaign add-on)

On top of everything that is already included, those who purchase this collector's edition will receive a remote-controlled Claptrap that is controlled using the ClaptrApp on iOS and Android devices. You can move Claptrap around using the controls while having him recite some of his iconic phrases from the game. His eye also functions as a working camera that streams the video to your device.

All contained within a collectible steel case, buyers will also receive 12 exclusive Vault Hunter lithographs depicting the characters from the game. All of this will be available for $399 at selected retailers.

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection arrives on the Xbox One on March 24th in North America and March 27th internationally. The standard edition of the game will run you $59.99.
