Ori and the Blind Forest Dated

Since its announcement at E3, Moon Studios' platformer, Ori and the Blind Forest, has drawn its share of interest. Originally slated for release in late 2014, it was revealed in November that the game would be suffering a delay into early 2015. Thankfully, the developers are intent to deliver on that launch window.

Of course, a release date announcement typically isn't complete without the launch of a new trailer and some screens. In the newly-released video, we get a glimpse of the Forlorn Ruins and the unique gameplay elements needed to traverse the level. Ori will be able to utilize a light vessel to climb on the walls in the Forlorn Ruins, but the catch is that you can't double jump. Also, certain walls may only be traversed using the light vessel, so dropping it to make that long jump may result in an untimely end.

Ori will also give players the ability to use a Soul Flame that, simply put, acts as a save state. Yes, the game has checkpoints, but if you pass a particularly difficult element, you can drop the Soul Flame to save your progress right then and there.
