Dying Light Shows Off Parkour & Co-Op

By Jonathan Barnes, 1 year ago
Earlier this week, disc-loving gamers learned of the disappointing news that the physical release of Dying Light was going to be delayed. Today, we've got a quick update on when gamers can get their hands on the game.

The game is still set for a January 27th release (both digitally and physically) in North and South America.

Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia will have a digital release on January 28th with a physical release coming on February 27th. As a bonus to those who preordered physical copies in these territories, Techland is throwing in two free DLC packs: "Cuisine & Cargo" and "Ultimate Survival Bundle".

The Dying Light team also sent along the following statement:

Dear gamers,

As you already know, today we detailed our launch timing for Dying Light. Although the changes affect only the release of boxed copies in certain territories, we want to show all of you our appreciation for your continued support. Thus, we’re really happy to announce that “Be the Zombie” will be available for free to everyone, on all platforms, in all territories.

We’ll also be giving away extra weapon dockets to everyone who pre-ordered Dying Light and signed up at Dockets.DyingLightGame.com.

We want to thank you for your patience and support in this matter and can’t wait for you to enjoy playing Dying Light and invading other players’ game in the “Be the Zombie” mode.

- Dying Light Team
In other Dying Light news, the team has also announced that Parkour Founder David Belle assisted with the game's development so as to ensure an authentic parkour experience. Rather than just tell you about the experience, prepare to be shown!

If some glorious parkour action isn't enough to soothe your inner zombie, we have two other advertisements/trailers to show off.

Finally, the developers at Techland have been incredibly generous with their time doing live streams and taking questions from the community. In their latest video, lead developers Tymon Smektala and Maciej Binkowski along with brand manager Pawel Modlinski, and assistant producer Marcel Mitraszewski show off the game in co-op.

For those who would like to see a little more of the game before it releases next week, you can watch the developers show off the “Be the Zombie” mode on Twitch this weekend; January 24th at 10 AM (PST)/6 PM (GMT) at Twitch.tv/Techland.

Dying Light is set for a worldwide digital release on the Xbox One next week.
