"The Sacrifice" DLC Gets a New Trailer

"The Sacrifice" DLC Gets a New Trailer

I wish they all had made it...

Written by dropK1CK ninJA on 01 October 10 at 22:11

Valve released a new trailer for the up-coming Left 4 Dead 1 and Left 4 Dead 2 crossover DLC titled "The Sacrifice."

Kind of makes you wonder how anyone could survive those odds. I need to start stockpiling ammunition.

The DLC is going to tell the tale of what happened between the end of Left 4 Dead 1 and "The Passing" DLC released back in the Winter. You know that piece of DLC with all them fancy mutations you need to play.

Anyways, some quick refreshers:

* Release date is October 5th
* Costs 560 Microsoft Points
* Play as all the L4D1 survivors
* Includes a new finale called "Sacrificial Gameplay" where you decide who dies so the rest can live on and fight for their survival
* Those L4D2 players who purchase this DLC will also get the "No Mercy" campaign from L4D1 available to play in the sequel
* L4D2 special infected, items, and weapons (presumably melee weapons too) will be usable in L4D1

Edit by Dog of Thunder: Thanks to Scottish Husky and Deathguard 123 for the following information:

* 5 new achievements for each game
* 560 MSP for each separate version, meaning it will set you back 1120 MSP to play in both L4D1 and L4D2.
* FREE download for the PC version compute

If you want to play it in L4D1 as well as 2. You'll need to fork out 1,120MSP. As there two different downloads.

"The Sacrifice" will be available as two separate packages on Xbox Live for 560 Microsoft Points each and free to all PC gamers.Might want to add that in.

In regards to the last *, is this meaning they will be present in all modes/maps of L4D1? Or just the new map (I assume new only, and No Mercy.) Also, you can see Zoey pass a Katana off to Louis so we can assume Melee are included.

I heartily recommend reading the comics, too. Well written, nicely drawn and generally awesome.

In "The Sacrifice" for Left 4 Dead, gamers receive the complete Sacrifice campaign with maps playable in Campaign, Versus, and Survival. There are 5 new achievements, a new style finale and plenty of places for devastating Hunter pounces.

For Left 4 Dead 2, gamers receive “The Sacrifice” campaign and L4D1’s “No Mercy” both playable with the L4D1 Survivors. This version also offers 5 new achievements. In the L4D2 version of “The Sacrifice” each campaign is playable in Campaign, Versus, Survival, and Scavenge modes, and both "The Sacrifice" and L4D2 version of No Mercy feature the Left 4 Dead 2 Special Infected, items, and weapons. Yes, Zoey with a chainsaw!

FREE FOR PC?!?!? I wonder why that is? You would think that they would give it just a cheaper price all around if they were going to do something like that. Start getting games for Windows? compute

I thought if you bought it once, it would be backwards compatible.
Now I find out I need to buy The Sacrifice DLC for L4D1 and L4D2?
Jesus... okay fine. You got me. I love me some L4D DLC.

Yeah that's what I thought/hoped :( Don't think I'll buy it for both...guess it'll be for L4D2 then since that's easier to get and keep 100% in (I only need the 53k zombies killing one in L4D1, can't really handle the grinding).
