Battlefield Hardline Discusses Character Design

Regardless of your location, Battlefield Hardline is due to be released this week. Developer Visceral Games has chosen the single-player campaign to be the focus of their latest video in the frantic build-up to release.

When playing a game like Battlefield, players usually rush through the level from objective to objective without pause. The thing is that the Hardline world is a world that tries to be as believable as possible. This means that it is occupied by a cast of characters that all have something to say. Whether you eavesdrop on their conversations while using stealth, or you overhear them while using your scanner from a distance, Visceral has filled the world with "hundreds" of these moments where you may wish to take a moment to pause and listen in. In the latest video, the development team discusses how they designed the characters that you'll find in the campaign.

Many of you have likely tried the multiplayer beta and will have some idea of what to expect when the game releases. The data and feedback collected from the beta has allowed the developer to make a few tuning and balancing changes that will be live when the game is released. Here is the change list:

• One hit kill range reduced for 870 and SPAS
• Fire rate reduced for 870
• More vertical recoil for 870
• Recoil reduced for RO933
• Damage reduced for Ro933
• Vertical recoil added to M16A3 and M416
• Increased P90 spread per shot
• Improved Uzi un-aimed fire accuracy
• Magnum Ammo OHK range reduced
• Magnum Ammo vehicle damage reduced 50%

• Moved G36C to Cops and M416 to criminals
• Moved M/45 to cops and UMP to criminals

• Rank progression slowed down by 50%
• Repriced Battlepacks to cost more in-game cash
• Weapon license increased to 1250 kill
• Gold camo increased to 1000 kills

• GPS spotting and jamming range for Hacker mode reduced

Battlefield Hardline is released on March 17th in North America, March 19th in Australasia and mainland Europe, and March 20th in UK.
