Eclipse Games has this week unveiled their action packed, story driven, twin-stick shooter Tachyon Project
, a title that takes “concepts from the classic shoot'em up genre” and adapts them, “providing a more varied” gameplay experience.
In Tachyon Project
players take control of Ada, a software program that had been designed to hack into the world’s most secure servers. After a mysterious event, Ada is thrown out of the test server where she had been housed and out into the vastness of the Internet. With no way back, Ada begins a journey to uncover the truth behind her creation.
This story is presented through 10 unique levels, each made of 6 "progressively challenging" waves. In order to succeed player will need to make use of the 6 different main weapons, 9 secondary weapons and 7 perks to combat over 30 different enemy types, including 4 bosses.
Alongside the twin-stick shooter gameplay we are accustomed to, Tachyon Project
also introduces a new stealth mode that encourages players to think carefully about when to shoot and when to keep themselves hidden.
The team expects Tachyon Project
to be available sometime in mid-July on Xbox One as part of the ID@Xbox program, but an exact release date can't be confirmed yet.
