There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to ghostbusters ... a dimension as vast as Chima and as timeless as Doctor Who. It is the middle ground between the blue and orange portal, between Jurassic Park and Springfield, and it lies between the pit of Scooby Doo's stomach and the summit of a Midway arcade cabinet. This is the dimension of imagination. You've just crossed over into... The LEGO Zone.
Did you catch all of those? Some were more obvious than others, I know. Here I'll spell it out more plainly: LEGO Dimensions
has today revealed another eight licensed properties coming to this fall's mash-up event. The list includes:
- The Simpsons
- Doctor Who
- Jurassic World
- Midway Arcade
- Legends of Chima
- Scooby Doo!
Some, but not all, of the new properties can be seen below in these debut screenshots.
Many of these worlds have never been LEGO'd before either in games or in playset form. Others, like The Simpsons
and Scooby Doo!
are making their LEGO video game debuts. In addition to that varied octet comes the news that every game-compatible playset can be built in three different ways that each function in the game differently. The Batmobile that comes with the starter set, for example, can also be reimagined as a sonar gun and sonic Batray, which both perform unique actions in the game. You can see that for yourself in this new trailer.
These eight new properties bring the game's total to 14 so far following the original six
unveiled two months ago. LEGO Dimensions
hits stores on September 29th on current and previous gen Xbox consoles.
