Project Spark Celebrates Milestones With Double XP

By Mark Delaney, 1 year ago
It's been two years since Project Spark was revealed to the world and, since then, create-your-own game enthusiasts have flocked to the platform amassing a global play time of 22 million hours, all while making 72 million custom brains, 21 million custom environments and 4 million custom objects. Not to be confused with the Summer of George, Team Dakota is celebrating these figures with a season-long event called the "Summer of Spark", promising a laundry list of special events in the weeks and months ahead, the first of which has been revealed today.

This weekend, from June 12th at 10 am PST until Monday June 15th at 10 am PST, players will receive double XP and double credits on all challenges and activities. If you're a Premium user those figures are doubled again at quadruple XP and credits. You'll also have the opportunity to obtain the first episode of "Conker's Big Reunion" for just a single credit in the game's marketplace.

Also supposedly launching today is the "Dungeon Descent Pack", which aids creators in making their own dungeon crawling adventures with more than 40 props, a random dungeon generator assembly and new music fitting the theme.

Lastly, they're holding a new contest giving creators the chance to get their sought after props made for the game. You are encouraged to create a prop by June 21st that uses no terrain, 10 unique objects and 40 total objects. All eligible entries will be scored by Team Dakota. The winner of their 10X40 CreationJam will work together with the team to create a prop of their choosing that they want to see come to Project Spark and the prop will even be named after its creator. For more on this, watch the video below that introduces the competition.

Look out for more events in the constantly changing landscape of Project Spark as summer continues.
