EA announced that has Medal of Honor sold a massive 1.5million units in just five days. That's around twelve and a half thousand copies every hour of the five day period.

Frank Gibeau, President of EA crowed of the success in light of the less than favourable reviews of the title popping up around the internet:

Medal of Honor is one of EA’s most storied franchises and we’re thrilled to see that fans worldwide have embraced it. In this ultra competitive category, Medal of Honor stands out from the pack. By portraying the Tier 1 Operator as so elite, so tough, Medal of Honor offers a view into a world that has the power to resonate with FPS gamers everywhere
In announcing the sales figures, EA also unveiled plans for free DLC which would be coming to the title November 2nd. Entitled Clean Sweep, the free download is an elimination mode where 'players must rely on their own skill and teammates’ expertise to prevail as the winning team'. The DLC will also contain two new maps, Bagram Hangar and Khyber Caves with Diwagal Camp and Kabul City Ruins receiving redesigns.

It should be noted that this DLC is only free with game registration using single-use Online Pass code enclosed with new, full retail purchase. Additional codes may be purchased through the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
