Set The Scene In Ghost Recon Wildlands

Time: The near future. Location: Bolivia. Drugs: Everywhere. That's the basic premise of Ubisoft's big reveal, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands. In this reimagined Ghost Recon you and up to three friends take control of four elite Ghosts with the goal of infiltrating, disrupting, and sabotaging the supply chain of cocaine being smuggled all across the region. The Bolivian government is corrupt, paid for by the same cartel running the drug show, so they can never know you were there, or you risk all-out war. It's exactly the type of situation one might expect in a Tom Clancy story, which is probably why his name is in the title.

Like the debut trailer emphasized, the environments are massive open worlds conducive to several different playstyles. Long range, stealth, tactical offense, or even throwing caution to the wind -- they're all viable, and you can of course combine playstyles as the battlefield changes.

Vehicles span all modes of transportation -- on-road, off-road, sea, and air. The world is full of landmarks and varied terrain, all lived in by its inhabitants with their own agendas, and they react to what you are doing around them, especially if you're putting them in danger. No one's sticking around for that. A slew of weapons will be available, like the series always brings, including the flavor of the decade -- drones. For those who want to go it alone, the game allows for total solo play too, though it wasn't mentioned at this time if that will include AI teammates.

Different factions exist in the game and you can bribe or otherwise set up different sides to create inner conflicts and use them as distractions to make your own missions easier. A full weather system will be utilized as well as a day-night cycle. Sometimes it might be best to wait to be cloaked in darkness before executing an objective.
