Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Explained

By Andrew Ogley, 1 year ago
Ever since it was announced at E3, backwards compatibility has been a hot topic and the source of many questions from gamers eager to see the new functionality.

Microsoft has now released a video clip in which Xbox Live's Major Nelson chats with Bill Stillwell from the platform team about how it all works and what we can expect. In the relatively short clip it is revealed how achievements, dashboard, game saves, digital copies, and disc copies will all work. The video also shows how fast the emulation works by demonstrating the original Borderlands in action.

Backwards compatibility is available now for those in the preview program and is expected to be officially released this coming holiday season.
