Many times, when a game is simply rated for any console, it's necessary to hold tight before revealing a release is coming until official word hits. After all, we don't like unnecessarily getting anyone's hopes up. After Twitter user, lifelower, posted
that Klei Entertainment's Don't Starve
had, in fact, been rated for Xbox One as Don't Starve: Giant Edition
, Klei decided it best to take to Twitter themselves to confirm that the title is coming
In Don't Starve
, players enter a randomly-generated open world where they take control of a scientist named Wilson. In addition to navigating the world around him, players must make sure that Wilson doesn't run out of health and that he doesn't starve, in addition to monitoring his sanity. If Wilson fails any of those measures, he will perish permanently and players will have to start again. There are items that can help prevent this, but they are difficult to obtain. Success is measured, at least somewhat, in the number of days Wilson survives in this dark, dreary landscape.
First published in 2013, Don't Starve
was initially released on Steam and then ported to PS4. One piece of DLC, titled "Reign of Giants", and a major multiplayer expansion, titled "Don't Starve Together", have also been released. With a title like "Giant Edition", it is reasonable to assume that some or all of the DLC will come with this release. Once there is confirmation of that - or any other details - we'll be sure to bring them to you.
