Q.U.B.E. Director's Cut Release Date Revealed

Although mentioned among the plethora of ID@Xbox titles in our E3 coverage, Q.U.B.E. Director’s Cut has had its fair share of dedicated coverage in the 18 months since its announcement. The latest was a batch of trailers and screens, giving us a preview of the console-release of this definitive edition.

Developer Toxic Games and Publisher Grip Games have announced that Q.U.B.E.: Director’s Cut will land on consoles first on Playstation 3&4 in the US on July 21st, with the rest of the world to follow on the 22nd for those platforms.  Xbox One owners will have to wait just a couple of days longer, with a worldwide release for the platform planned for July 24th. 

For those still unaware of the acronym’s significance, Q.U.B.E. stands for Quick Understanding of Block Extrusion, which is a fancy way of saying you’ll solve many puzzles using various blocks that turn physics on its ear to reach your destination: home.  This version includes all the platforming, puzzling, and other features of the original PC release, adding to that the all-new Against The Qlock mode.   This time-trial mode allows you to place your times on worldwide leaderboards to see where your cleverness ranks against your friends – or foes.

To pique your interest for next-week’s launch, a new trailer has been released as well.  For those that haven’t seen the game on PC and want to remain spoiler-free, fear not. This is just a snippet of a lone astronaut in a long cuboid hallway as the camera spirals away, a mere teaser of what’s in store.  Check it out below and prepare your problem-solving skills.
