This report is for the period July 27th to August 2nd 2015.
Welcome to the stats for the very end of July into the beginning of August here on TA. This week we see free-to-play tanks and new operating systems take to the tables to battle it out with...well, not much else really.

The Big Numbers
67,525 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 107,004 games between them (2,205 different games).

8,882 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 14,324 games between them (1,633 different games).

135,152 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 2,185,571 achievements online between them (69,911 different achievements).

Xbox One
The release of the Xbox One version of free-to-play World of Tanks sends it straight to the top of the Started table with over 11,100 starters. It also grabs seven of the Achievements Won, including the top four. These numbers will have been boosted by the cross-platform unlocks so a lot of players who already had the game on the 360 would find their achievements unlock upon (or hopefully shortly after) starting up the game. Another free-to-play release came this week in Magic Duels: Origins, which grabs 4,500 starters as the third most started game and two spots on Achievements Won in sixth and ninth. Other new releases include Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist and King's Quest in fifth and tenth but other new releases Squid Hero for Kinect and The Swindle don't get nearly enough starters to make it.

This week also saw the changeover in Games with Gold titles and new freebie Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes manages to land in second with 7,400 starters in just two days of freeness.

New (and very easy at 90% completion) DLC shoots Arctic adventure Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) straight to the top of Completed with almost 600 completions. So Many Me remains high in second with 300 but don't be fooled; only 3% of players have finished it. As is usually the case with Adventure titles, King's Quest proves an easy completion as the sixth most completed title.

Xbox 360
The new Games with Gold freebie on the 360, Metro 2033, smashes into first with 2,000 starters in two days of freeness. It only manages one spot on Achievements Won though as the achievement-carrying Title Update that was released for World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition at the same time as the game's release on the One fills up the rest of the table. It also makes the game the second most completed title with almost 50 completions, which is actually quite low considering people were unlocking most of the DLC's achievements in the high hundreds. The game's release on the One seems to have lured people into starting it on the 360 too, putting it as the seventh most started title. Hey, cross-platform unlocks if you've got it on the One, so why not?

XBLA doesn't see much change this week as recent Games with Gold, backwards compatible and Telltale titles continue to dominate. Oh, and Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition of course. One change is that the newest episode of Life Is Strange (Xbox 360) puts that game to the top of Completed with 260 completions and fills in the bottom half of Achievements Won.

Although many of these title are the same as normal, you'll note that the numbers across the tables are significantly higher than normal with the lowest title getting 230 starters instead of last week's 70. That's because of the release of the new Windows 10 operating system and the inevitable free game downloads that come with people getting it. In particular, the new version of classic Windows game Microsoft Solitaire Collection (Win 10) and the new version of Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta smash into the top of the table with 4,400 and nearly 2,300 starters each. With numbers like that, they both naturally fill the Achievements Won table too.

One easy game in particular also gets a boost on completions with Microsoft Mahjong (Win 8) getting 200 in first thanks to it not yet getting the extra achievements that Solitaire has.

Windows Phone
Tiny Troopers 2: Special Ops (WP) and What in the World? (WP) still very much dominate on Windows Phone though a new release, Abyss (WP), does pop up as the third most started title with 130 starters and two places in the middle of Achievements Won.

There's very little change at the top of Genres and Action-Adventure and Shooter barely shift their numbers. One very big change further down though is that World of Tanks blasts Vehicular Combat up from off the the bottom of the table straight into third with an impressive leap of numbers, again significantly boosted thanks to cross-platform unlocks. The Windows 10 Microsoft releases also push Card & Board up into seventh,

Total TrueAchievements won by Genre

  • Shooter9,241,018
