TA Stats - September 21st to 27th 2015

By Chewie, 1 year ago
This report is for the period September 21st to 27th 2015.
Welcome to this week's stats where we look at the back end of September, which saw just one big release on both consoles.

The Big Numbers
56,618 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 78,144 games between them (2,046 different games).

5,173 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 6,775 games between them (1,166 different games).

141,369 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 1,332,340 achievements online between them (53,499 different achievements).

Xbox One
It's that time a year again where sports titles are being pumped out left, right and centre. We've already had the likes of Madden NFL 16 and NHL 16 on the tables and last week FIFA 16 popped up thanks to its release for EA Access. This week it gets its full release and jumps up from fourth to first with approaching 9,700 starters. It also claims six spots on Achievements Won. The EA Access release of NBA 2K16 also drops in third with over 3,900, behind Games with Gold freebie Tomb Raider - Definitive Edition.

Recent releases Forza Motorsport 6, Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight and Castle Crashers Remastered maintain high spots on Started while new ID@Xbox release Guns, Gore & Cannoli grabs tenth with 850 starters. Unfortunately, Blood Bowl 2, Penarium, Extreme Exorcism, Fermi's Path and Skylanders SuperChargers all don't make it though.

With a seemingly easy and/or quick completion, Guns, Gore & Cannoli also manages to make the middle of Completed in sixth with almost 70 completions. After only a week of freeness, Tomb Raider pops up in eighth as people finish it up. Some of those may be people who already had the game and are taking advantage of the boost in players to wrap up the multiplayer grind though.

Xbox 360
Games with Gold freebie Crysis 3 remains by far the most started game on the 360 whilst the 360 version of FIFA 16 (Xbox 360) does relatively well, taking second on the table with 500 starters though it is only around 5% of the starters of the One version. Saints Row IV might seem like a surprise addition, but this is an achievement site and the news of fixed achievements in a game is enough for people to run out and grab it. For a bunch of players that achievement was blocking the game's completion too. Now it's fixed, the game shoots to the top of Completed with 80 completions above its predecessor, Saints Row: The Third, which also saw fixed achievements and manages approaching 70 completions.

The previous week's new release Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight (Xbox 360) maintains an easy first place on XBLA with over 930 starters and half the spots on Achievements Won. With no other new releases or XBLA titles on sale, there's not much else happening on the Arcade tables.

After slipping down the tables in the previous week, recent release Doodle God Blitz (Win 8) again manages to take second place thanks to a small bump in starters from 100 to 140. It still doesn't come close to challenging Microsoft Solitaire Collection (Win 10) though, which also increases its starters from 350 to 470. Presumably Windows 10 got a spike in buyers this week. Doodle God also sees a bump in completions from 15 to 50, putting into second.

Windows Phone
On Windows Phone, Doodle God Blitz (WP) retains its top spot and almost manages to grab the clean sweep on Achievements Won, with the "DLC: Title Update" from What in the World? (WP) keeping it from it with the bottom two spots. Like on Windows, it also sees its Completions spike from 20 to over 50, putting it in second on Completed.

With FIFA and NBA pulling in strong numbers, Sports manages to clamber up from fourth into second. It's helped that the Shooter numbers are decimated from 14 million to under 7 million thanks to Destiny being recategorised on the site from Shooter - First Person Shooter to Role-Playing - Dungeon Crawler. That change also means that Role-Playing jumps up from sixth to fourth.
