Introducing Rocktober

By Dave Horobin, 1 year ago
With the recent release of Rock Band 4 and the upcoming release of Guitar Hero Live, the music genre is back with a bang, and we're going to celebrate that here on TA with our latest community event, Rocktober!

Similar to our Music Mayhem event from 2012, Rocktober is a community event with one clear goal, to help as many of you as possible earn some of the harder to earn multiplayer achievements from the music genre.

What Is Rocktober?

The music genre should be fun, but for many achievement hunters out there that isn't always the case. As well as needing a fair amount of skill across each of the various instruments for the various single player careers, there is also the issue of co-op and multiplayer achievements that can require you to find up to 7 other people who can meet at the same time, with unique instruments, and in some cases to a high level of skill in order to get anywhere close to a completion.

We're hoping to take as much of that frustration and hardship away from you and allow you to enjoy the games as they should be, whilst at at the same time hearing that sweet sound of achievements popping in between songs. We're doing this by creating community gaming sessions and forming bands to suit each gamer's schedule, the games they want to play, the achievements they want to earn and the instruments they want to play.

How Do I Register?

To register, head over to the Rocktober Hub and hit the "Register Now" button on the right side of the page. Once registered, you'll then be asked to select the achievements you want to earn, select which instruments you own and to what skill level you can play them, and select which dates and times you will be available to rock. As more members register we'll start forming bands, and you'll be sent a PM as you are added to new sessions.

Rocktober officially begins on October 17th and will run until the end of the month.

Which Achievements Are Included In The Event?

The full list of achievements included in the event can be found here.

What are you waiting for? Go dust off your instruments, warm-up those vocal chords and raid your local gaming store's bargain baskets for any games that you might be missing, and help us make October rock!

If you have any questions you'd like to ask, feel free to post them in the comments below.
