By Clever Jake, 9 months ago
Hey TA’ers,

Do you want to know where your favourite game finished in our Game of the Year Awards? Read on as we wind up our Game of the Year 2015 with a feast of statistics.

In a slight decrease from last year, our GotY Awards had a grand total of 23,287 votes from 5,641 users.

In a massive increase from last year, Xbox One games received 95.32% of all points (up 26.5%), Xbox 360 games received just 3.5% and the rest of the platforms received just 1.34% of the vote. The top 32 games were all Xbox One games.

The top 50 games and the other results.

The Winners

Fallout 4 was the clear winner with 10,232 points from the most votes (2,470). The 3,739 point margin between first and second was the biggest between any two positions (2,029 points between 3rd and 4th was next). It got the most first, second, third and fourth placed votes (Halo 5 got the most 5th place votes). It also had the second highest vote average at 4.14. Despite less votes this year, Fallout 4 got 4,128 more points than last year’s winner Titanfall, In fact Titanfall’s total would have only placed it in 4th this year.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt got the highest average vote* with 4.17; 56.8% of its vote were first place votes (the highest percentage of any game).

Life Is Strange got the highest Gamers Played Score (GPS)** in the top 100 with an impressive 148.16; the Xbox 360 version was also the highest placed Xbox 360 game, placed in 33rd with 383 points, including 44 first places.

Barbie and her Sisters Puppy Rescue finished a surprisingly high 116th despite the fact that only 206 users have played it...

Your favourite genre was RPG with 26.59% of the vote, just beating out Action-Adventure with 24.94%.

The Losers

Despite being played by 74212 gamers (the fourth most), Call of Duty: Black Ops III only received 580 votes and it finished 13th.

Star Wars Battlefront had the lowest number of top votes in the top 10 (94). It also had the lowest vote average (3.01) and its 29.5 GPS was by far the lowest in the top 10 (Forza 6 was the next with 60.73). As the fifth most played game of the year, it arguably should have performed much better.

Monster Go! (WP) had the lowest GPS with 0.21 (4677 gamers and just the 1 point). BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition had the lowest GPS on the Xbox One (not including apps) with 0.64 and NHL Legacy Edition had the lowest on the Xbox 360 with 4.6.

Yasai Ninja, Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians, Giana Sisters: Dream Runners, NHL Legacy Edition, Let's Sing 2016, Azito x Tatsunoko Legends, Age of Sparta (WP), Monster Go! (WP), Handball 16, Elements: Epic Heroes (WP) and BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition all finished 307th and last with 1 point.

Your least favourite genre was Party once again, with only 104 votes totalling 0.33% of the overall points.

*In the top 200, technically The Escapists (Xbox 360) got the most with 5.0, however it only got 1 vote.
