Alan Wake 2 To Be Kinect Enabled? [RUMOUR]

By DavieMarshall, 6 years ago
Whether you love it or loathe it, Kinect is quite clearly here to stay with Microsoft announcing there were 'No Plans For A New Xbox, Only Experiences.'.

With that in mind, once the initial excitement over Kinect's launch line up dies down, it makes sense that Microsoft will be wanting to line up some massive exclusive for the Kinect to really drive their point home.

Could it be that Alan Wake 2 will be one of those titles? In a job advert reported by VG247 Remedy are looking for a programmer with motion control experience. Here's the advert ad-verbatim:

We are looking for a skilled programmer with a passion for game programming to join our team. You will be working on the next iteration of Remedy’s unique game engine that was previously used in Alan Wake.

Passion for games
Extremely strong C++ skill set (MS Visual Studio)
Strong teamwork skills and a proactive attitude
Strong 3D math skills
Minimum two years of software development work experience
Appreciated additional knowledge and experience:

Experience on motion-control technology (e.g. Kinect)
Console game development
Multithreaded programming
Optimization experience with console games
Tools and pipelines programming
Audio system programming
Whilst this advert may be for another venture entirely, it's always quite possible that Kinect will be utilised in the kind of way that was planned for Fable III (before the functionality was pulled). That is to say, it's not the be all and end all of the gameplay, but rather intended as an 'added optional extra'.
