Insomniac Games has revealed their next game called Song of the Deep. It's a metroidvania-style action-adventure that follows a young girl named Merryn and her quest into the unknown in search of her father. Insomniac first teased the game on Tuesday with a short glimpse of the underwater world.

Players will explore a variety of different environments, including boneyards, gardens, and ruins. The makeshift submarine that Merryn builds can be upgraded with abilities to travel to new areas in this non-linear interactive world.

Song of the Deep will combine "discovery, skill, and suspense with an unforgettable narrative" and "will challenge players to explore, experiment, and skillfully navigate a vast ocean landscape." It's being published by retailer GameStop and will release this summer on Xbox One. According to a follow-up tweet from the developer, Song of the Deep will cost $14.99 and be available via download or physical purchase at GameStop.
