This report is for the period January 25th to 31st 2016
Welcome to the stats for the tail end of January here on TA. Where did January go already? It seems like only yesterday that the Statisticles and I were huddled around a tree opening presents from each other. Well, I was opening presents from them. I'm more of a gift receiver than a gift giver. Having said that, here, take the gift of numbers arranged into tables.Games Started
51,236 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 73,292 games between them (2,194 different games).
8,129 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 10,825 games between them (1,289 different games).
132,194 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 1,292,327 achievements online between them (58,460 different achievements).Xbox One
As you might expect, new free title ROBLOX
leads on Started and takes the top spots on Achievements Won (only three of them though). Not being available in all regions and some less than stellar ratings perhaps keep it from higher numbers, grabbing 5,800 starters. A bunch of date sensitive achievements and an apparent unobtainable keeps it from Completed entirely.
New release LEGO Marvel's Avengers
settles for second but manages to beat Games with Gold freebie ZHEROS
. It gets two mid-table spots on Achievements Won with Rise of the Tomb Raider
claiming more spots thanks to some new DLC
. Completions of the DLC put that game into ninth on Completed with 150 completions.
Despite being a sizeable list, other new releases Sparkle 2
, Level 22
, Amazing Princess Sarah
, The Living Dungeon
, This War of Mine: The Little Ones
and Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo
don't make the tables at all. The previous week's new release and easy completion, Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink
, does appear on Completed in eighth.
Meanwhile, Fallout 4
manages to climb to the top of Completed above the usual fare whilst sales
give Far Cry 4
a boost all the way up to fourth on Started.Top Xbox One Games StartedTop Xbox One Games CompletedTop Xbox One Achievements WonXbox 360
Freebies current and old continue to dominate all round though new release LEGO Marvel's Avengers (Xbox 360)
does make a strong showing in terms of placement (fifth) if not in terms of numbers (fewer than 250 starters). I wish there was more to say, but there really isn't.Top Xbox 360 Games StartedTop Xbox 360 Games CompletedTop Xbox 360 Achievements WonXBLA
XBLA is a similar story with freeness dominating. Recently added Backwards Compatible title Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
keeps a high position in fourth and sales put Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
into eighth.Top Xbox Live Arcade Games StartedTop Xbox Live Arcade Games CompletedTop Xbox Live Arcade Achievements WonWindows
I may have got a little overexcited last week with the news that a major title was finally coming to the Windows 10 platform. As promised, Rise of the Tomb Raider (Win 10)
shows up but it does so with a rather conservative under 100 starters and a fourth place position. I suppose it can't really be expected to compete with free. With the news that it would be imminently delisted
, a few people rushed out to get Pac-Man Championship Edition DX (Toshiba) (Win 8)
and ten completed it, putting it into seventh on Completed.Top Windows Games StartedTop Windows Games CompletedTop Windows Achievements WonWindows PhonePanzer Geekz (WP)
slips below Ridiculous Marathon (WP)
this week while Equalicious (WP)
gets a boost into third thanks to the release of some new achievements.Top Windows Phone Games Started Top Windows Phone Games CompletedTop Windows Phone Achievements WonGenres
As another week passes without any high impact new releases, Genres remains mostly unchanged though the reduced gap between Role-Playing and Action threatens to mix things up. The only other noteworthy change is Special, which appears from off the bottom straight into sixth thanks to ROBLOX
. Total TrueAchievements won by Genre
Catch us next week when Cobalt
joins yet more indie releases to try and break the tables.
