Microsoft has detailed exactly what will be in the upcoming definitive edition to TrueAchievements' best platformer of last year, Ori and the Blind Forest.

The major addition in the Definitive Edition is the new area, Black Root Burrows. Interwoven with the rest of the game, the area will provide a more in-depth look at Naru and her past, discovering where she came from and her motivations as a character.

This new area will also provide access to a couple of new abilities - Dash and Light Burst. The simply-named Dash allows Ori to gain a short burst of speed when the player hits cn_RB. The ability can then be boosted via the skill tree, with damage dealing and then mid-air dash being the two upgrades available. Light Burst - hidden in Black Root Burrows' more dangerous sections - is "more or less a grenade throw", according to Executive Producer Mark Coates.

New modes will also make their way into the game. Both the new "Hard" and "One-life" modes will provide new challenges to those who want them, whereas the new "Easy" mode has been added to allow more people of all ages and skill levels to experience the game's gorgeous visuals and story.

Speaking of the game's visuals, the final addition is an expanded theater mode that will not only allow you to view all of the game's cutscenes, but also take a look at early concept material, trailers and some other "cool content".

Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition is set to hit both Xbox One and Windows 10 on March 11th.
