Ultimate Head to Head Period One Summary

By Jack Watling, 7 months ago
At the start of last week we kicked off the inaugural Ultimate Head to Head Contest, which pits you and a random opponent against each other to earn as many achievements as possible from a common list of 20.

As most of you know, over here on TA we love all things data! With that in mind we figured it'd be great to do some digging about and see what interesting statistics have emerged from the last period.

UHH Round Up

With hundreds of potential games in the contest, we were interested in which ones featured the most. Out of a mix of five Xbox 360 and five Xbox One titles, Hexic HD took the top spot with a difference of 82 chosen achievements!

With Hexic HD taking the top spot in the previous graph, it was no secret that it would appear on this one too. However, it surprised us by taking not one or two, but six of the top 10 most chosen achievement places!

Following on from the ratio spread, we have the most unlocked achievements. Yet again, Hexic HD took the top spot but there was a bit more variety with the other titles present.

With nearly 17,500 potential achievements up for grabs, we took a look at the spread of ratios between them. There were over 9,000 in the 1.0 to 1.5 range and just 391 with a ratio of 5.0 or more.

From a total of 1746 gamers, there were a dedicated 27 who managed to earn all 20 of their randomly assigned achievements, which is a pretty impressive feat!

With the huge number of participants, we never expect everyone to show up. This time around we had a total of 402 gamers that didn't unlock any achievements at all.

Following on from the above, we had a total of 322 uncontested matches out of 833, where one of the gamers in the pairing didn't manage to unlock an achievement.

In the first period 913 gamers were eliminated. 833 gamers triumphed and moved on to the currently running second period.

With nearly 2000 participants, the contest has gotten off to a great start and we've been overwhelmed by all of the positive responses to the contest. We would like to say thanks again to Freamwhole for approaching us with it and thanks to all of you for taking part and making it great!

If you want to discuss any aspects of the contest, feel free to jump over to the Ultimate Head to Head 2016 - Discussion thread.
