Fable Legends Servers Officially Close, Refunds Going Out Now

Despite the cancellation of Fable Legends in early March, it remained playable until today, Wednesday April 13th, when the servers officially shut down.

This morning, developer Lionhead Studios made one last closing statement on the official Fable Legends forums, which looked sad and out of place next to the old announcements of new characters being added and more fans being invited to the beta.

The statement was as follows:

Hi everyone,

Now that the Fable Legends servers have come down, we wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for the incredible dedication and support you’ve shown Fable Legends over the past few years.

With your help, we’ve built one of the nicest, most passionate communities any of us have had the honour of working with. We speak on behalf of everyone at the Studio when we say your contributions to both the community and the game have been truly appreciated; we simply couldn’t have come this far without your help.

Though Fable Legends hasn’t made it into everyone’s hands, we hope those who did have the chance to play it enjoyed it as much as we did. This was, it’s safe to say, one of the most ambitious and challenging projects many of the staff here have ever worked on and we’re incredibly proud of what we achieved. The awesome memories and friendships forged will live on.

Once again, heart-felt thanks go out to all of you – you’re the best.

It was also confirmed refunds are currently going out to any players who made in-game gold purchases on Xbox One or Windows 10, and may have already been received in some cases. Notification messages are being sent to players' individual accounts as they are processed. More detailed information on the refunding process can be found here.
