DICE declared war on Call of Duty
last week when they announced
that Battlefield 1
is launching this year. While Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
is heading into the future, Battlefield 1 is taking us back to the past. Today DICE released some new screens and info to clarify exactly why it thinks Battlefield 1
will be a smash hit this holiday.
Why take a motorcycle to an objective when you could take a horse?
The game is centered around The Great War, you'll fight in a besieged French city and in the sands of Arabia. DICE hopes to take "players on an epic journey across a war-torn world, taking them to the Great War and providing something both varied and unique in Battlefield 1
.” World War 1 is the birth of modern warfare and DICE wants players to feel the "intensity and immersion" of the battles.
