Subnautica developer Unknown Worlds has a surprise for console players following the open-world, underwater exploration title — it will be available on Xbox One tomorrow, May 17th, as part of the Game Preview program.

Subnautica is currently in Early Access on Steam, and has already been highly praised despite being unfinished. It will join the Xbox Game Preview program alongside popular titles such as ARK: Survival Evolved and The Long Dark. The Game Preview program gives gamers a chance to test out games in progress, while at the same time aiding developers in gathering feedback.

For those not yet keyed into what Subnautica is all about, it's an underwater exploration game with striking colors and visuals. The game has been in Steam Early Access since December 2014.

"Just like the Steam version, we will update Subnautica on Xbox regularly," said Hugh Jeremy from Unknown Worlds. "Our first task is to add the Farming and Machinery updates. To receive Xbox specific development updates, follow the Subnautica Xbox Twitter and Subnautica Xbox Facebook pages."

Currently, the Xbox version is slightly behind the PC version.

No price was listed and the store page isn't up yet (at the time of this writing), but the Steam version retails for $19.99 USD. Subnautica will be available at midnight on Tuesday, May 17th.
