More Screens and Details Emerge for Tekken 7

As covered earlier, Tekken 7 is coming to Xbox One in early 2017, and following the debut of the newest iteration in the fighting franchise, more screens and details have been provided.

In Tekken 7 players will be able to continue the primary storyline of recent Tekken games, that of the struggle for power amongst members of the Mishima clan.

Franchise director Katsuhiro Harada, using Unreal Engine 4, is working to have one of the best looking Tekken games ever made. Alongside these new graphics comes a full featured game with the aforementioned Story mode, plus the full suite of arcade features and other enhancements. In addition, players will be able to choose new fighters such as Kazumi Mishima, Claudio, Josie, Shaheen, Katarina, Lucky Chloe, Gigas, and Akuma from Street Fighter (as was seen in the trailer).

On top of that, developer Bandai Namco anticipate the newest entry in the arcade favorite Tekken series to be a major player on the eSports scene. As Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at Bandai Namco stated:

We’re excited to bring one of the most celebrated and hardcore competitive fighting games to the Xbox One and PC gaming audiences. TEKKEN 7 is poised to heat up the eSports scene and taking it to Xbox One and PC audiences will further expand the pool of talented competitive tournament players nationwide. With TEKKEN 7 we’re focused on electrifying the competitive fighting game tournament circuit with the hardest hitting TEKKEN game yet.

As a further reminder, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is free to download for Xbox Live Gold members starting June 13th until June 21st, so make sure to grab it if you don't already have it.

Tekken 7 is set for an early 2017 release.
