Marvel: UA2 DLC To Be Delisted On Dec 31st

Marvel: UA2 DLC To Be Delisted On Dec 31st

Limited License Agreement will expire at month's end

Written by Matrarch on 05 December 10 at 18:30

Activision's Dan Amrich posted on his blog earlier this week that the "Character & Sim Mission" DLC pack for Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 will be delisted from the Marketplace and taken offline on December 31st, 2010.

This same DLC pack, which features 5 playable characters (Carnage, Magneto, Psylocke, Cable, and Black Panther) and 4 new simulations as well as 8 achievements worth 250gs, was pulled in the past before returning after a several month hiatus from the Marketplace. However, as reported in this article, the content was always intended to only be available for a limited period.

For those of you concerned about potential compatibility issues between players who do and do not have the DLC when playing multiplayer, Amrich notes that you can download the free Character and Sim Mission Pack Teaser to ensure that you encounter no difficulties related to not having content which will soon no longer be available.

If you want to make sure you don't miss the opportunity to complete the game, you can download the pack here for 800msp.

Well that sucks but its a bit too much to be paying for that DLC. I say offer it at a discount so those who are intrested in playing the game in the future they have those things there I know I did that with COD and whatnot.

Dokter V said:can you still get the achievements next year/month if you buy the DLC now?Yeah, you would be able to. This removal isn't the same as servers closing wherein you can't access the needed content anymore. If you purchase this DLC before the end of the month, you still have access to everything it contains, including the DLC. At least, that's my understanding.

Considering I want to play this game (Absolutely loved the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance) and 3 of the 5 DLC characters are ones I like, I better get it.

Thanks for the heads up!

You should be able to download any content you have previously downloaded, even if it was delisted. So you're fine.

I'm curious, has there ever been a notable exception?

Oh, and I bought this pack shortly after it was relisted, as I have a huge Marvel fan in the house. From what I understand they had to jump through a few legal hoops and pay a hefty hunk of money to get this relisted after the Marvel sale (at least IIRC that was the reason), so please buy this if you own the game even if just to support developers giving support to a game after release.

What usually happens is that if you have downloaded some DLC previously but deleted from your hard drive then you CAN still re-download it from you "Download History" even once removed from marketplace. I wouldn't take that as 100% but reasonably confident that I'm right.
If any doubt, just download before it is removed from marketplace and leave it on your hard drive, it's not too big a piece of DLC anyway.
Probably the best looking person with the gamertag "Crowbo 360" in the world!!

Well, just got it and it shall remain confortable in my HD awaiting use. Can't miss the chance of using Cable, Psylocke and Magneto afterall.

Besides, they did have to go to great lengths to make this DLC available for another 6 months, so it just shows they care.

Juggernaut can still suck it, tho :P

Tempting, but I don't know. I already have 40 or so games I haven't started, have no MSP until the bing people finally send me some point codes, and the DLC seems pretty spendy. I just don't want to miss out on 100% completion if it's a fun game

That way you get the experience but you don't have to pay.

I laughed at "Get over yourself" as well. Unnecessarily used.

Anyway, I bought this pack when it was put back up and finished the game. Pretty good game.
