The thought that more than ten years ago Capcom's Resident Evil 4
was originally touted as a "GameCube exclusive" has become one of the biggest jokes in the industry. With a PS2 port announced before the GameCube version even released, the classic survival horror title has since been ported and HD-remade onto every system under the sun, including PS2, PC (multiple versions), Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 and even mobile platforms like iOS and Android, with a high probability that I forgot to mention a few. Res 4
adds two more notches to its system belt next week when it re-releases onto Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Spoiler alert: this is the part with the bugs
Which begs the question for a lot of gamers — is this new version worthy of a purchase for the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth or maybe even ninth time? Luckily, Capcom is here to help you out with two newly-released videos showcasing the upgraded gameplay. The videos run through some of the most memorable moments of the campaign, including the opening village scene and some of the larger rooms in Salazar's castle.
That choice is up to you. Resident Evil 4
releases on Xbox One on Tuesday, August 30th for $19.99 / €19.99 / £15.99.
