Call of Duty: Black Ops III Previews Final DLC and Zombies Conclusion

By Kelly Packard,
Call of Duty: Black Ops III is less than two months out from no longer being the most current game in one of the planet's most popular series. It'll soon fade away as the center of attention and be forced to fork over the limelight to Infinite Warfare. Treyarch will be wrapping up Black Ops III's year with one final DLC, entitled "Salvation."

Salvation DLC

While the "Salvation" DLC will contain the usual array of new multiplayer maps, Treyarch hasn't honed in too much on those yet and are instead focusing on the conclusion to what they call the "Origins Zombies" saga that has been, in their words, "eight years in the making." Treyarch's first Call of Duty title to feature zombies, which was the first Call of Duty game to feature zombies period, was Call of Duty: World at War.

The finale of Black Ops III's zombies mode will be called Revelations. You can catch glimpses of the continuation of the story in the two videos below. Treyarch previews the plot with the following statement: "In their epic journey through space and time, Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo, and Nikolai come face to face with the mysterious Dr. Monty in The House."

In addition to the new zombies experience, "Salvation" will also include four new multiplayer maps — Micro, Rupture, Outlaw and Citadel. We will no doubt see more detailed previews of these maps in the coming weeks, as we did with the "Descent" DLC.

On PS4, "Salvation" will be available on September 6th. Though "Salvation" doesn't yet have a release date for Xbox One, the PS4 exclusivity period has been one month for previous expansions.
