Osiris: New Dawn Headed to Xbox One in 2017

By Sam Quirke,
After five years in development, Fenix Fire Entertainment have released their cross-breed of survival and space simulator, Osiris: New Dawn on Steam Early Access and simultaneously confirmed that the game is coming to Xbox One via the ID@Xbox program.

Osiris: New Dawn 2

The central premise of the game is that you have been sent to colonize alien planets on behalf of humanity:

As part of the second colonization team sent by the U.N.E. (United Nations of Earth) to study planets for potential Earth re-population, the spacecraft malfunctions, braking violently from light speed and forcing an emergency landing on the planet’s surface.

You'll be setting up shop on a hostile alien planet, battling strange weather and stranger local creatures in order to survive long enough to set up a base. You'll then be adapting to the local flora and fauna for resources as well as researching new technologies. If things get hostile, not to worry – you'll be able to set yourself up with a variety of weapons and mechs.

In time, you'll be able to combine your colonial aspirations with other gamers in online coop, explore further out into the universe and defend your hatchling homes from both alien threats and competing players. While you are working on all of that, you'll also be playing detective as you track down the "dark events" surrounding the missing Osiris-1 team.

Osiris: New Dawn 5"Sorry to disturb you, sir. Have you seen Matt Damon?

Osiris: New Dawn should be shipping off for the console frontier some time in 2017.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Osiris: New Dawn achievements.
