A handful of new screenshots have been released for Gears of War 3 taken from the game's mutliplayer. Be warned, one of them shows Anya graphically being taken roughly from behind by a heavily-armoured Locust!

Epic have also revealed the box art for the game, continuing the trend set by the first two's "Marcus standing in the middle holding a Lancer" theme. Check out the new Sawed-Off Double Barrel Shotgun in Dom's hand and the Retro Lancer (that uses a bayonet knife instead of a chainsaw) in Anya's:

As posted yesterday, the Gears 3 beta is set to begin in mid-April. Don't forget to vote for the maps you want to play before February 28th, as detailed in that news post.

As revealed the day before that, the full game is now scheduled to release worldwide on September 20th.

I'm no gearhead, but I am still really looking forward to this release. I know all the buzz is about the multiplayer, but I for one hope that the single player is good.

I hope whenever Marcus goes to talk to Anya he still puts his fingers up behind his right ear. Even if she's *right next* to him.

I wonder if the game will have something in the way of a flashback scene where Cole is playing a game of thrashball or something.
